Students brainstormed words for the poem and were asked to combine them to create a haiku poem.
Poems should be marked on overall effectiveness, how well students used vivid images and descriptive adjectives, and whether the correct pattern has been used.
To assist you in marking the students' writing, you may wish to develop your own scoring guide or use the following rubric:
