I got up early the first day of my vacation, and I strolled down to the seashore. (I had arrived in Parksville very late the night before.) The sun was just coming up. I stood on the dock and looked out at the sea. The dark blue waves gently splashed against the sea wall. Birds circled over the water. As I looked across the water, I saw a whale surface.
